Light, easy supermini with petrol, mild-hybrid and electric versions
By Adrian, Car Lease Deals UK · Updated 16 October 2026
Vauxhall's supermini shares its underpinnings with the Peugeot 208, and the 2024 update brought a new front end and the 48V mild-hybrid 1.2 turbo, sold as the Hybrid 110 and Hybrid 145. Alongside the plain petrols sits the Corsa Electric, built on the same five-door bodyshell. The appeal is a short, light car that is simple to park, with a powertrain for most budgets.
A transparent score for the Vauxhall Corsa, worked out from official UK figures, not opinion. Running costs and emissions compare it like for like: same class, same fuel and powertrain.

First-time buyers and town drivers get the most from the Corsa, which is light to steer and offers petrol, hybrid or electric power. The boot is smaller than the class best and the cabin has more hard plastic than a Polo, but neither spoils a likeable little car.
